FAQ
Common questions
Is DV Help the official DV Lottery website?
No. DV Help is an independent assistance service. The official DV program is run by the U.S. Department of State, and entries are only registered at dvprogram.state.gov. We help you prepare a correct entry and submit it on your behalf.
Who can apply?
You must be a native of an eligible country and have at least a high school education or two years of qualifying work experience. The exact list of eligible countries is published by the U.S. Department of State for each program year.
Can I include my family?
Yes. Your spouse and unmarried children under 21 should be listed in your entry, even if they do not plan to move with you. Leaving out an eligible family member can lead to disqualification.
What do I need to get started?
Your personal details, passport information, education level, and a recent photo of yourself and each family member. We will tell you exactly what is needed at each step.
What does it cost?
The U.S. Department of State charges a $1 registration fee, paid directly to them. DV Help charges a separate service fee, which is shown clearly before you pay. Service fees are non-refundable.
Does using DV Help increase my chances of winning?
No. Winners are chosen by random computer selection, and no service can change your chances. What we can do is make sure your entry is complete and correct so it is not disqualified.
